Study summary
This work analyzes, from the perspective of strategic foresight, the evolution of communication between police institutions and society, with the aim of identifying emerging trends and proposing strategies that strengthen a community-policing model with a horizon of 2035.
The results indicate that incorporating new technologies will help improve communication channels, expand citizen participation and optimize the interaction between security forces and the community. However, the study concludes that direct contact between the police and citizens will remain the central element in building trust, preventing crime and strengthening public security.
Finally, it presents strategies that integrate digital tools with proximity actions —such as foot patrols, neighborhood forums and community dialogue spaces— promoting more transparent, participatory and closer communication, oriented to consolidating a sustainable cooperative relationship between police institutions and citizens.
